Our next workshop will be at the Concordia Greenhouse.
Preserving the Harvest Wednesday, September 30th from 5:30-7pm at the Concordia Greenhouse. Many folks think that living in Quebec makes it impossible to eat local food all year round. Actually, with a little planning, you can eat food grown around Montreal throughout the long winter. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of several ways to preserve food, including canning, freezing, drying, and fermentation. We will be making dill pickles together. $10 for the workshop only, $15 includes your own jar of pickles! The first 25 participants will be admitted. We're doing our first free giveaway! Register with a friend for our 8 week Urban Sustainability Skills workshop series by September 20th, and you'll each receive your choice of a kombucha SCOBY ("mother") or enough vermicompost worms to start your own compost bin. In order to claim this gift, please write the name of your friend in the "note to seller" box when you register. Registration closes on September 20th at midnight. For any questions, contact Shona.
