Will you know what to do when the apocalypse comes? You’re probably not about to quit your job to move into a cabin and braid your own hemp and wool into organic clothing, but there are easy skills we can learn to get back to the land while living in an apartment.
Through this series of discussions and hands-on workshops, we’ll learn how to grow and preserve our own food, make our own cleaning products, build a more inclusive community, and lessen our eco-footprint. By learning how we can become more ecologically and socially responsible, we can reconnect to each other and our environment, as well as simplify our lives.
Wondering what you'll be learning about? You can see a detailed course outline.
Who can register? Everyone! You don't have to know anything about environmental, social, or sustainability stuff to participate. This workshop series is open to anyone who would like to start learning more about what sustainability means and how to implement it into their daily life. Although the course is held at Concordia, anyone can attend.
Cost: student/recent graduate sliding scale of $70-110 for the 8 week class, plus $15 for materials. We strive to make the courses financially accessible to everyone. If this is prohibitively expensive for you, please contact us and we may have one work exchange spot available. Non-students can register here.
Format: Two hour workshops once per week for 8 weeks. Mix of discussions and hands-on activities.
When: Mondays 6-8 pm, running from February 1st to March 21st, 2016.
Where: 2nd floor (room 204.1) of Sustainable Concordia (2090 Mackay) in Montreal.
Registration for this series closes Wednesday, January 27th, but other workshops will be offered throughout the year.

Accessibility is a big part of sustainability! We strive to make our workshops financially and physically accessible to everyone. A sliding scale payment system offers a "pay what you can" rate: those who have more disposable income can pay more for the service, while those with less income can pay what they're able.
